Whether you have a garden, yard or even just a windowsill, you can grow herbs and salads that can elevate your cooking and save you money. As well as boosting your wellbeing, this can become a hobby where you are also providing a habitat for our precious wildlife.

Working With Plants (Horticulture Course - LAL)

When: Friday 12th June 1:30pm-4pm

Cost: Free to benefit recipients in Lancashire.

Location: Stubbylee Community Greenhouses

Info: Working with plants is a great way to improve your mental and physical wellbeing, and gain new skills which you can apply at home, in your community or in your career. This course focuses on how to successfully grow plants from seed, and how to plant and care for them once they have grown. The course is typically delivered 2.5 hours per session over 4 weeks.

Improving Mental Health Course

When: Approximately 4th August

8-week course every Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-3:30pm

Cost: Free to benefit recipients in Lancashire.

Location: Stubbylee Community Greenhouses

Info: A psychoeducational course where participants are welcome to discuss relevant experiences should they wish. This is not an expectation and we must emphasise that this is not a counselling course and therefore, not an appropriate place to disclose past trauma as this could be triggering for others.

This course covers the following:

  • Getting the Basics Right; Looking at sleep, nutrition, and activity.

  • Stress and Anxiety.

  • Depression and Low Mood.

  • 5 Ways of Wellbeing; including a visit from our Social Prescriber Debbie Dewhurst.

  • Indentity, Self-Esteem, & Boundaries.

  • Managing Emotions; including building a personalised wellbeing toolkit.
